She grinned. "I am?"
She turned her head slightly, whistling innocently. "Nothing."
He wasn't sure what to do. "It'll be okay. Just.. stay here. Or get home, if you can."
She tried to hide her smile, clearing her throat. "Do you?"
She tilted her head, watching.
"No, Poppy. Please don't."
"You must not like me very much."
She grinned. "Grey."
"She is, I know. I know." He tried to be soothing. "But already hurt.'
"I changed pie and guy."
She watched him, moving and laying on her stomach at the edge of the bed, propping her head up with her hand.
He shook his head. "You'll be able to make sure soon. Don't worry, okay? I can't have you go."
"Rude."
She grinned. "Oh, good."
"No," he said quietly. "I'm sorry."
She took it and ate it . "Thank you, kind gentleman."
Her hand reached up to brush his jaw. "Would you want to do that?"
"No, no. Poppy, you tried. It wasn't your fault."
