She squinted at him. "Because you can't be seen with me."
"Yeah! Sea glass!"

"Because I'm gross. I get it."
She looked up at him. "I love you too. Where should we go next?"
"I don't really mind, but it flusters me."
"I realize?"
She frowned. "It was still scary."
He pursed his lips. "Well.."

She looked up at him. "Not to me, anymore. It's just.. you drew your knife and I didn't know who you were."
"Talking like that?"
