"When?"
He sensed something wrong, and his pace quickened.
"Still there. Just less."
"I don't think so. Unless Jack taught her while I was gone."
He frowned, choosing to wait awhile before heading in the direction of the Glen.
"Permission granted, but do it quietly."
Avice nodded. "You'll have to teach her chess next," she teased.
Later that day, Sam had made his way to the meadow, his head cocked curiously.
He squinted at her, but followed.
She nodded slowly. "Right."
