"While pretending to be concerned?"
He rubbed her back, shutting his eyes as he began to nod off.
She groaned. "Fine."
"Yeah. At least I wouldn't laugh."
He brushed back her hair. "Sleep well, okay?"
She raised her arms. "But a cat! It's so soft!"
"I would mostly be concerned."
He wrapped his arms around her lovingly. "Something like that."
"The truth is that cats are better," she said teasingly. "We should get a cat."
He frowned playfully. "That's mean."
He grinned, kissing her cheek. "We even each other out nicely, then."
She ran her fingers through her hair, looking up at Jack. "Look what you've done. You've made her a dog person."
"Oh.. Don't drop right now."
"Well.. People emit body heat."
"Dog, huh? You a dog person?"
"I know you are."
"Works for me."
