She kissed his cheek, her voice quiet as she spoke into his ear. "You're going to be a dad."
Francis looked up after taking her hand. "We are. She'll have the omelette."
She stopped and stood. "Stand back! I'll handle this.."
"Probably not," she said warmly, brightening as a light flickered nearby. "There's something I have to tell you."
"I will."
Callie frowned. " You okay?"
She rested her head on his shoulder. "I'm waiting for the fireflies."
"That's not true. I'm just not good with food."
She sat on the first step, a small grin on her face. "We're making it happen."
He raised an eyebrow. "You're being incredibly vague."
She kissed the back of his hand, stepping out onto the porch.
"Let's try coaxing."
"Well, since you won't answer me, that's what I'm getting you."
She smiled warmly. "I think the fireflies will be out soon."
"Let's just set him in and see how he reacts."
"But do you like omelettes?"
