She took her, staying close to him. "Thanks."
This seemed to fluster him further. "Don't act so high and mighty."
She laughed warmly. "If you think so, then it must be true."
She nodded, standing up slowly. "I know."
He frowned. "Shush."
She hesitated before wrapping her arms around him. "You are too."
She was mostly quiet, her eyes drifting mindlessly.
He flushed slightly, but cleared his throat. "Ah.. I won't."
It was her turn to be surprised, before she brushed back her hair embarrassedly. "I'm just like everybody else, really.."
"I know you are. It's okay."
He tilted his head for her. "I promise."
She cocked her head curiously. "It's just the truth.."
She rubbed an eye. "Ugh. Okay."
He ran his fingers through her hair. "I won't do it next time."
"I don't care. I'm excited to learn. Everything I know about you is.. It's wonderful, Arlo."
"I know," she said softly. "I'm just tired.."
He kissed her forehead. "I was only joking."
"Yeah.. I like everything about you."
She nodded, turning her face into his chest. She couldn't help but shut her eyes.
He grinned, his eyes adoring. "It is."
