She relaxed again. "I'm not going to leave you. I'm just.. scared."
"Exactly." *** "Nobody likes to feel trapped."
He went back to the kitchen, adding a bit more flavor to the sauce.
She gave him a kiss. "I'm sorry I'm frustrating sometimes."
"You've stated you've wanted to kill me before." *** "Exactly."
He kissed her forehead. "Be quick."
She looked up at him, her eyes wide. "I want to make you happy," she said, her voice small. "I try.. I fail sometimes, but I try."
"Then you're a liar." *** She kissed his cheek. "Well, I wouldn't like to be caged."
He kissed her forehead. "You could come back right after."
She went quiet for a second, feeling as if she said something wrong. "I don't want you to die."
He flushed slightly, but grinned. "No?' *** "Maybe. Not sure."
"Of course," he said softly. "You should probably go get dry. Pajamas sound nice."
She shook her head. "That's not what I meant."
He chuckled. "Your secret is safe with me." *** "Maybe," she said thoughtfully. "He is in a cage."
He pursed his lips. "Just spaghetti, if that's okay."
