He stood up as well and wrapped his arms around her. When he spoke, she would hear his voice break slightly. "Please stay here. Please."
She flushed slightly. "I love you too."
"Yeah," he replied. "But they're at the apartment." *** "Now is the future!"
"No," he said, his voice pleading. "I already did. Just stay here, okay? Your head got hurt.. Just stay here."
Her hand brushed his jaw. "It'll be fine."
"I have cats," he said. "Jelly Bean and Nachos." *** "Amazing!"
He looked surprised and a bit sad, but nodded, looking down. "That's okay. You don't have to."
She kissed his cheek. "That's okay. No worries, right?"
"Cats are good." *** "Right?" She agreed. "And were dating!"
He moved his head straight, looking hopeful. "Poppy?"
She frowned. "Ask around more? I'm not sure.."
"That's true." *** "Well, the boy I like likes me back, too," she pointed out.
He went to sit at the bedside, pulling up a chair. He took her hand and rested his head on the side of the bed, watching her with soft eyes.
"No it wasn't," she reassured, holding his arm. "The day isn't over, yet. We still have time!"
"Not a human." *** She laughed brightly. "It Is?"
He pulled his arm away, moving towards the infirmary. "I'm going to see my fiancee."
She crossed her arms thoughtfully. "We'll find something. Don't worry!'
"Very few.' *** She nodded brightly. "Definitely."
