"It's enough," she told him, moving to his jaw. "It's perfect."
He seemed a bit reassured by this, relaxed slightly. "Me too."
He nodded, taking her hand. "Alright."
She smiled, kissing his neck. "You're the best."
He looked up at her, his eyes unusually downcast. "Hi."
He nodded. "Alright. Let's do that."
She rested her head on his shoulder, speaking softly in his ear. "And what about me? Are you satisfied?"
He put away the phone, chilled by sitting on the steps as he waited, burying his hands in his face.
He smiled softly at her. "I'm positive."
She sat in his lap, her legs folded. "There doesn't need to be an answer. I like how you smell."
He was quiet for a moment. "Okay," he replied quietly. "I will."
He nodded thoughtfully. "There will be more."
She grinned. "Are they?"
"284 Hacienda," he murmured. "I think."
"Is everything okay here?"
She shrugged. "It's something I notice. You tell me."
There was silence, maybe a sniffle. "Outside."
He sighed. "I missed you too.. I love you."
"The ocean," she said. "Sea salt. Maybe almond?"
He hesitated, his tone off. "I've never gotten drunk."
