She kissed his cheek, a smile on her face. "Damn."
"What's the point of that?"
He pursed his lips. "Like what?"
"I know," she told him. "I was hoping to use it against you."
"No, I just think it's really mean, even if it is true."
"Are you still tired?" he asked quietly, looking down at her.
She slid out of the bed, bringing her blanket with her as she joined him, pressing her cold feet against his legs. "Mean."
He frowned. "You called me stupid."
He sighed. "God, I love you."
She groaned. "Okay, I get it. C'mere."
He sighed heavily. "You're mean."
He was quiet, before slowly kissing the top of her head. "It's a privilege to know you, Poppy."
There was a shuffle as she paused, and after a moment her head would poke over the edge of the bed as she glared at him. "I bet it is."
"But mine aren't that mean! And you're probably being serious!"
He smiled softly. "I don't know either."
She squinted at him before laying on the bed. "Fine."
"Calling someone stubborn and not smart is two different things. Since when is stupid and stubborn held to the same standard?"
He brushed back her her, moving his hand to gently tilt her head to look at him. "Don't worry about me. I'll be okay, alright?"
She grinned. "You'll have to wait til tomorrow night.'
