He seemed distracted. "Poppy.. Please."
She nodded. "It's not as big, though."
He waved his hands. "Oh, I'm okay."
"No," he said softly. "It would be bad."
Charlotte paused, her expression thoughtful. "There might be one. On the other side of town."
"Eh. Same difference."
He frowned, thinking of what could have happened. "No. I'm sure."
Charlotte sat down, smiling back at him. "Of course! It's really my pleasure."
He laughed. "I suppose that's true. I could see how it is frustrating."
He sighed, obviously still worried. "Okay. Let's go."
She kissed his cheek before sitting down, Charlotte brought out the bowls moments later.
He grinned, rubbing the back off his neck. "Maybe a little."
He shook his head. "No, my love. No jumping. Let's get back to the apartment, okay?"
She glanced back. "Thanks! You can take a seat if you'd like."
Landon frowned. "Oh no! Yeah.. you're right. It's a little weird. You're talking about Landon- I mean me- as if I'm not here, though."
He shook his head, burying his face in her neck. "I was joking.."
She nodded. "Yeah." Once they returned to the kitchen, they would find Charlotte pouring hot stew into three separate bowls.
Landon grinned. "Landon appreciates that.'
"Poppy, why didn't you tell me about the medication? You really could have been hurt.." He tried to sound scolding, but it was mostly worry.
She smiled. "I know."
