He seemed surprised. "Oh! No? But he's likely worried.."
He watched her, his eyes thoughtful and diligent. " What did you do before you met me?"
She grinned. "You were scaaared."
He nodded. "That's probably a good idea."
He moved to kiss her cheek. "It will be alright. Everything will be okay."
She laughed, her head cocking. "You were super scared."
"Alright," he said hesitantly. "If you say so."
His hands softly rubbed her back, and he remained quiet.
She smiled softly. "That's true, doctor. She's still making dinner, though."
"I know," he said quietly. "I can't still say sorry."
He returned the embrace, sighing softly. "I love you."
"Well, it's too late. We already agreed.."
He glanced at her. "I'm sorry."
"We'll still figure it out. Just don't leave me," he said, his head cocking.
She sighed, shaking her head. "I don't know, Jack.."
He nodded, starting the car and pulling onto the road. "Hopefully."
He leaned and kissed her cheek. "Please don't leave me then, either. We'd figure it out."
"I don't like this at all. That's it."
