Avice rolled her eyes. "You're sleeping by yourself tonight."
He seemed to let down his guard before going to the sink. "I will."
He shook his head quickly. "God, I hope not."
Charlotte grinned. "Of course. It's nice to see my daughter again.."
He shook his head. "No."
He laughed. "It'll still be in my nightmares."
She hesitated. "I suppose we could."
"Don't," he warned. "I'll drop you and the mugs."
He chuckled softly. "It didn't even sneak up on me and I was still scared.."
Avice elbowed him playfully, a small grin on her face. "You two can stay the night if you'd like," Charlotte offered. "I have spare bedrooms."
He shook his head. "I'll do the chores today."
He frowned. "That's terrifying."
Charlotte laughed. "She's always had the eye for that kind of thing."
He shook his head. "I'll drop them"
"Right. What was that thing?"
Avice seemed embarrassed, but smiled slightly. "She still paints?" Charlotte asked curiously. "She used to do it all the time."
He shook his head. "Nope. Careful, or you might make me drop them."
"Decades?" he asked. "That's.. That's fantastic!"
"I used to," she explained. "Never really got into it. I guess it wasn't my thing."
