"I guess you just don't love me as much as you used to."
She nodded. "Definitely. A huge one."
She groaned. "You're ridiculous."
He looked at her sadly. "I'm probably not even exciting to you anymore."
She kissed his cheek. "I think you're funny, but it could be because I have a crush on you."
"Exactly! So what's the point of stating the obvious?"
He sighed dramatically. "You must think I'm so predictable."
"Do you think you're funnier?"
"I think the kids in your class rub off on you," she replied. "That's like saying you have a crush on Val."
He squinted at her. "Even if I did happen to bring some, you should not accuse me."
"Dad jokes are better," she said. "That's that."
She laughed. "Can't deny that. I do."
Francis gave him a treat. "Falsely accused me of bringing sprinkles."
"Mom jokes are weak," she said, inspecting the twine. "Dad jokes are better."
"Sure," she said. "I think of him a lot."
He frowned, grabbing a bag and pulling out dog treats. " you can forget about snacks."
She shook her head. "No way."
She raised an eyebrow. "Then what do you think?"
"So, I brought some snacks."
She nodded his nose. "Great."
