He held her tight, tense with concern. "I love you."
She grinned. "I could take your last name.. Maybe I'll have both."
"Threaten? No. More like.. persuade."
He nodded, his expression off. "Okay."
"I might as well just take your last name," she teased. "I'm your girl!"
She burst out with a laugh. "What?"
He shuddered, but eventually spoke again. "Okay."
"Yours!" She reiterated. "As in you! Jack Curnow. The one!"
She raised an eyebrow. "They will."
He held her close. "You'll be okay, though. You'll be okay."
She suddenly wrapped her arms around him excitedly, burying her face in his neck. "I'm your girl!"
"..Mr. Teacher?"
"You won't," he replied quickly. "Don't say that."
He laughed happily. "I love it."
She frowned. "Gah. Mr. Teacher, then."
He didn't reply immediately. "Not really."
"I do know that, but it's different hearing you say it."
She laughed. "Yes, sir."
He sighed. "Alright. It's okay."
