He considered saying something, but didn't, and only gave a small wave. *** She chuckled slightly. "You could."
She smiled, her head tilting slightly. " If it makes you feel any better, I probably wouldn't order fireworks."
He smiled, going over to kiss her forehead. "Of course."
He got off and passed her the helmet. "Thanks for the ride! I appreciate it." *** She frowned. "You're going to get a cold, too."
She laughed. "I doubt fireworks taste good."
He laughed from behind her. "Probably a few things."
He nodded. "Yeah. Thanks." *** She squinted. "But.. why?"
She laughed. "That doesn't count."
He kissed her cheek before pulling away. "Just try it."
He shivered slightly, watching the lights pass. *** She cocked her head. "Not in awhile."
"Being boring isn't bad, I guess, but you're not boring."
"Yeah," he said. "Just gotta finish preparing it."
He nodded. "I'm okay." *** "I agree."
"Oh shush," she teased. "You're plenty exciting."
A moment later he came behind her and kissed her cheek, sliding a plate of French toast in front of her. It looked adequately prepared.
He got on without another word, and seemed mostly quiet. *** "Really?" she asked. "That good?'
She raised an eyebrow playfully. "Toast? Exciting."
He laughed. " You can sit at the table."
He caught it, putting it on. "Thank you." *** "I've never been here before. It's pretty good."
