"I only know that you're secretly a pessimist."
She laughed. "Don't even deny it."
He sat up and wrapped his arms around her. "I love you.'
"Fake optimist," he said. "You're truly a pessimist."
She crossed her arms, a fierce smile on her face. "You let me win."
He nodded, stretching. "Yeah. Sorry."
He returned the look, his lips pursed. "Pessimist."
"Not really," she said with a small shrug. "I mean, I could sleep if I wanted, but I don't want to."
He laughed. "Right. For yourself."
"When," he corrected. "She will.'
She cocked her head. "Do you have anything else to do?"
"Okay," he said softly. "Thanks."
"Yeah," he agreed. "Let's do that."
"It's okay," she assured. "Are you still working on the map?"
"Not quite," he said. "It's mostly the dreams."
He frowned. "We can't."
She went and wrapped her arms around him, kissing his cheek. "Boring."
