He frowned. "Maybe because we're both stubborn enough to figure out this timer thing out."
She was quiet, glancing at Jack in concern. "What do you mean?"

She looked around, placing her hand carefully on her concealed dagger.
He laughed softly, his head tilting slightly. "A little."
