Francis sighed, crossing his arms as he watched. "I agree with her, though.
"Aw," she teased. "I think it's endearing."
"We are rushing," he said. "It doesn't mean much, but he has a point."
"Hm. Not really."
Francis frowned. "Why are you getting so frustrated?"
She laughed. " In a different sense."
He cocked his head, looking over at Phos. "I apologize."
She paused, thinking about it. "Hm. I suppose you're right."
Francis rested his hand on her back, his voice smooth. "It's okay, Poppy. He's just concerned."
"If you love me?" she asked. "Why?"
Francis raised an eyebrow, squeezing Poppy's hand. "It'll be fine."
She tilted her head. " No? I'm pretty sure I'm a little scary."
"If I'm truly confident I'm in love, then why wait?"
She pulled away after a moment, going back to sit on the bed. "I'm scary, right?"
"The fact that we're in love should validate it," he said. "Not time."
"Okay," she said finally. "To sharks."
Francis sighed. "I know, but.. I'm certain on this."
She rolled her eyes. "I'm sure."
