She gave a quick nod. "Anything."
Francis rolled his eyes. "She's joking."
He frowned. "She won't."
She laughed. "Okay, new bet. If you lose, then the next time I get drunk, you have to do whatever I say." She paused. "Also kiss me."
"Uh huh. Sure."
He noticed, but knew he could do nothing. "It'll be fine."
He laughed. "I caught her."
She crossed her arms. "What do you propose?"
"Okay," he said thoughtfully. "Lead the way. "
Francis pulled out a chair. "Promotion thing," he answered. "It was straight luck."
She smiled, pulling away from his for a moment to stretch. "I will bet you one kiss that you can't give me the best hug ever."
He purses his lips, looking back at it. "Oh right. Sure, we can grab a coffee."
He shrugged, a hint of amusement on his face. "If they did, then we would be, of course."
She smiled slightly, kissing his jaw. "I love you a lot."
"Of course I am," he joked. "Want to go salvage, then?"
"We're soulmates," he teased. "It was inevitable."
She looked up at him, obviously reassured by his words. Once she calmed, she leaned into him, shutting her eyes momentarily.
He placed a hand on her shoulder, his head cocked reassuringly. "That sounds like a good plan. I'm sure it will all work out."
Francis waved reassuringly. "It's quite alright," he said kindly. "You were being loyal to Poppy. I understand completely."
"It's not your fault," she told him. "It's not your fault at all, though."
