"I should be able to," he told her. "Cause it's make up birthday day."
She laughed slightly, looking back down. "Only sometimes."
"This time I am," she assured. "I promise."
He sighed, leaning over to kiss her cheek. "I love you."
She climbed down, tilting her head. "Good point."
She smiled against his lips, putting her arms around him. "I'm sorry."
He leaned into her touch. "I'm only teasing. I couldn't be grumpy after all you're doing."
"No. There's a difference between a well and a cliff."
"Definitely," she said with a nod.
He frowned. "Fine."
"You told me to."
She smiled. "Nope."
He pursed his lips. "I don't get it."
She returned the glance, a teasing grin on her face. "Going to prove it!"
"You're being stubborn."
He squinted, a confused expression forming. "What?"
