She nodded. "Let's do it."
She squinted at him. "I wouldn't," she said, a small grin crossing her face. "Even if I wasn't vegetarian."
He raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?"
"Not without," she told him. "I'm pretty sure you'd scold me if I did."
She covered her eyes. "I would never hurt a dog! I'm disappointed you even say that!"
She took her hands, looking out at the clouds. "It's wonderful, isn't it?"
She nodded, kissing his cheek. "I appreciate it."
"It was plain tacos, not dog ones!" She folded her arms. "That's inhumane."
"I take it back," he decided. "I love you."
"I think I'll be able to handle it," she said. "I'm there for you, not him."
She made a look of disgust. "Dog tacos?! Never!"
He seemed surprised, and a bit flustered when she did this, clearly not expecting it.
She smiled against his lips. "Of course."
"Nope." She grinned. "Tacos."
"I love you," he sang. "But you don't."
"They can wait," she decided. "You first."
"Oh yeah?" she asked. "What am I thinking about?"
"So you don't love me?" he asked quizzically, teasing her.
"Soulmate does not mean psychic," she corrected. "Unfortunately."
He smiled brightly. "But it's true."
