She moved closer to his, resting her head against his chest. "That's good," she mumbled. "You changed everything as well."
"That's true," he said. "What else?" *** She rolled her eyes. "Just try the dang swing."
He squinted, confused, before unbundling and joining her.
"And suddenly you do?"
"And some people refuse to be with their soulmate," he commented. *** She laughed, getting off the swing. "Probably."
He kissed the top of her head, a bit uncertain. "After you."
"What did you do before you met me?" she asked curiously.
"Of course," Francis replied. "Doesn't everyone, at some point?" *** "Right? But were soul mates, so I have to be right."
He tilted his head. "I'm sure I will."
"You don't have to apologize," she said. "It's okay."
He frowned, kissed her cheek. "Nobody saw it coming." *** "Yeah, and then you'll feel bad."
He did as well, smiling. "Of course I am."
She kissed his nose, her eyes warm. "That's okay. I know you worry, and I know you have no choice. That's fine."
