He moved her hand, her thumb gently rubbing the side of his neck as she watched, a bit worried.
He chuckled. "Alright, alright, fine."
"I know," he said. "It was really hard."
"Of course," she replied, her hands holding his face. "I love you."
He pursed his lips. "Uh huh."
"I suppose," he said. "I had to brush your hair and make you change your clothes."
"Is that so?" He raised an eyebrow. "And what do you do? Science?"
He smiled. " It was. Taking care of you isn't too bad."
"I know," she replied softly. "That's why I said it."
"Play sports and piano," he teased. "That's it."
"Of course," he said. "It was funny."
She kissed his cheek when they pulled away, her eyes obviously concerned. "It's a good thing I'll always be here."
"Nope." He grinned.
He nodded, standing up. "Yeah, let's go."
"I do," she said, her voice calming. "It will be okay."
"No," he said. "They'll be fine."
"No," he said. "I'll walk you out and drive home."
She gently turned his head to look at her. "I know," she said, her voice soothing. "It won't last long though, okay?"
He walked a bit faster. "Okay."
"I can take one at my apartment," he said. "It's fine."
