"Yeah," he said. "It's dusty down here."
She smiled slyly. "Maybe."
He laughed. "Bartcoon."
He held her, staying up a bit longer before falling asleep himself.
She pursed her lips. "Mouth to mouth?" she asked teasingly.
"You may," he said. "Bart the raccoon."
He kissed her. "I love you too," he said. "More than anything."
"Nope!" She grinned brightly, her face seeming to light up with the action. "But I would find a way to resuscitate you."
"Isn't it a pleasant name?"
He held her close, kissing her temple. "Of course."
"I will bring you back to life," she said easily. "Isn't that obvious?"
"Only Bartholomew," he teased.
"You should try to sleep," he said softly. "I'm sure you're tired."
She could help but laugh. "That is my goal, yes."
"Well," he said. "He told it to me."
"I think I'm not that good."
She looked at the ground. "Do you want me to?"
"That's his name," he said, as if it were obvious.
