He seemed surprised. "Do you have a piano?"
She kissed his cheek softly. "I love you, too." She paused. "Can I try to stand?"
"Oh, c'mon," he jeered. "Just a small bite?'
"I've heard that I am," he answered. "I like to think so."
"Of course not," she told him. "I trust you completely."
He raised an eyebrow. "Would you like a bite of my raisin pancake? "
"Oh," he murmured. "Piano."
"I know," she said quietly. "That's why I put all my trust in you. I know you won't."
Miles and Cal continued their conversation. Eliza looked at her plate and ate quietly, thoughtful listening to the words. "I can be," he said.
"Play anything?" he asked. "I play soccer."
She kissed him deeply, her fingers brushing his cheeks softly. She felt lucky to be able to be so near him.
"You can't," he replied in an equally monotone voice. "I'm unstoppable."
"I could decipher them if I tried hard enough maybe," he said. "We'll have to see."
She brightly up at him, her eyes loving. "Oh, Jack," she said happily. "I'm so glad that I'm with you."
He frowned. "Gonna eat it anyways."
" But I think that's interesting," he said.
She was quiet for a moment. ".. Really?
"Raisins are gross, Poppy. The only reason I'll finish it is to spite you."
"It'd be interesting to see how your mind works."
