"Somehow Cal liked her at first. He thought she was good." She tapped her temple. "But I knew."
"I said yes," he reminded. "You said no."
She made her move before looking up at him. "Sorry for being rude."
She looked at her. "I can tell you really care about him," she said kindly. "Unlike that last one."
"But you're you," he said. "It's probably good."
"Of course I trust you," she said. "I just don't believe you."
She sighed, grabbing the ingredients. "Yes, that's likely. He's struggled with that in the past."
"Just because I haven't read it doesn't mean it's not good."
She raised an eyebrow at him. "Uh huh."
"Yeah." She laughed. "He used to be so cute when he was actually excited for work."
"No need to apologize," he said. "This is good."
She pursed her lips, moving her piece to take the position. "Did you do that on purpose?"
"He likes to say 11 years," she laughed. "He had two jobs at one point, though. When he was starting out he wasn't actually an agent."
"So it seems," he said teasingly. "That s quite a lot."
She chuckled, moving her piece.
"You were intimidated?" she asked curiously.
