He frowned, a bit surprised and angry. "He did?"
She whimpered slightly the first time, not quite prepared for the pain.
"Well," he said, "I think it's a good thing."
He tilted his head curiously. "Is everything okay?"
Her brow furrowed. "I suppose."
He kissed her nose. "You're the cute one."
He returned not long after, a bright smile on his face as he didn't notice her expression. "I told them."
She did so, taking shaky breaths. It was less the pain that made her nervous, and more the situation.
"I'm not cute or adorable, though."
He backed off, squinting at her. After a moment, he huffed. "Whatever," he mumbled, walking off.
She exhaled quickly, wringing her hands as a small distraction.
"Adorable?" He crossed his arms. "I'm not."
He shrugged. "Eh. You never know. I mean, he only brought one other girl before, and I didn't even have to offer."
She hesitated, but nodded. "Okay."
"Cute?" He raised an eyebrow. "I'm not cute."
"Meet with me tonight," he repeated. "It will be fun."
She went to lay back, this time easier than the last.
"You make me nervous, okay?"
He smirked, leaning against the wall. "If you're anything like the last one, you'll agree to meet with me later tonight then, hm?"
"Should I lie back?" she asked, tilting her head curiously.
