He shook his head and gathered the courage to speak. "Did you threaten Poppy?"
"Well," he began, "not in this situation. No."
"Don't apologize," she told him softly. "It's not your fault."
Francis slowed, walking more warily as he saw Evan.
He looked at her. "I'm sure."
"Yeah," she said quietly, taking his hand with a strong grip.
He gave a nod before leaving, looking back at the door as he walked away.
He looked down with a raised eyebrow. "I don't see anything?"
She sighed, calming herself down as she went to lay back down.
"Yep," he agreed, slinging bag over his shoulder as he went to the door. "See you."
"How many?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
She nodded, taking the water and painkiller. "Thank you."
"Of course," he said brightly. "Any time."
"No," he said. "I can only see you."
She hesitated, taking a breath before quickly scooting to sit up, wincing slightly. "There.."
"Oh," he said, only seeming hesitant to himself as he stood up. "Okay."
"Do you see one?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowing.
"Um," she mumbled thoughtfully, "medium..?"
"Okay. I promise." He jokingly put a hand to his cheat. "I won't."
