She squinted at him. "Excuse me?"
"Our minds are just in different places," he replied.
"Okay, fine." He crossed his arms. "Sorry."
She pursed her lips. "I would've done it."
He shrugged, playing along. "Okay, fine with me."
"Just thinking out loud."
She turned to look at him. "You probably could have scared me just then."
"I'm only teasing."
"Or a million years ago?" he asked, looking at her.
He smiled, then shrugged playfully. "I'm only telling the truth."
"Everything is more grown," he said, shaking his head slightly. "The trees seem taller."
Once she got back to the deck, she went to the railing leaning against it as she watched carefully.
"Well," he said, drawing the word out, "you've definitely established yourself as a huge nerd."
She gave with one last look before leaving, returning to the deck to take a look at Maydye.
He sighed, shaking his head. "Uh huh. Okay."
"Kind of," he answered slowly. "It's a bit different."
She kissed his cheek with a small smile. "Be quick, okay?"
"Yeah." He nodded. "And lots of books. And barnacles."
He kissed her cheek before walking again, their arms swinging slightly.
"Alright." She nodded, then grinned at him. "I'd probably just distract you, anyways."
