"Why's that? Because I didn't look hard enough?"
"Can't we just stay like this?" he asked. "Human?"
She tilted her head. "Keep going?"
"Good," he said. "I'll find one."
"What kind of magic can you do?"
"You have a nice voice," she said quietly, grinning brightly at him.
"I'll be able to do it," he said. "I promise."
"Are you magic now?" he asked.
She grinned slightly, relaxing contentedly as she listened.
"That way," he said, tapping his pen, "I know what color shell to find."
"Thanks," he said, kissing her cheek. "I appreciate it."
She watched him thoughtfully, her gaze more subtle and discreet.
"You're welcome. What's your favorite color?"
"But you said you were human," he replied. "I am too."
She listened, sitting down and leaning against a crate with a small smile. She didn't speak, afraid he would stop if she did.
"I'll bring you back one this time, alright?"
"Yes," he said. "But I'm not a bear."
She shook her head a small grin on her face as she looked back down.
"Yeah," he said. "It'll be fun."
"I am not," he said. "That's impossible."
