He frowned. "Are you disagreeing because you don't believe me?"
He kissed the top of her head. "Okay. No feeling sad."
"Someone just said I should try it," she said, shrugging. "It felt kind of forced, honestly. When I did I didn't like it."
"I can look out for myself," he said. "Besides, I'm usually with friends."
He turned to her. "No? We can't?"
"I agree.. I've only tried it once, though."
"Why's that dangerous?" he asked, looking at her.
He nodded. "I would have been sad."
"Tobacco is gross," she said, sticking out her tongue. "I don't see how people can like it."
"Not really, no," he said. "My parents don't care if I'm gone as long as I'm back the next day."
He kissed her, a small smile on his face. "Good."
She tilted her head and leaned against the wall. "You're welcome. What sorts of things are you looking for?"
"No," he said. "I was just checking."
He sat still and silent, reading for a bit. "I love you."
She kissed his cheek. "I won't steal from you, then."
He looked down thoughtfully, then back up. "Do you know the time?"
He smiled, looking at her before going back to the book.
"I don't think I would," she said with a playful grin. "We'll see."
"I'm only teasing," he said. "It's less rude if you're teasing."
"I love you more than anything," he said. "Don't doubt it."
