"So I was just supposed too stand idly by?" He crossed his arms. "No way."
She checked an invisible watch. "It says I will be unoccupied with my time."
"Good," he said. "You wouldn't believe how many spiders are in there."
"You really want to connect with me then?" he asked teasingly.
After a moment she pulled away, the action reluctant. "What will you be doing in Maydye?"
"Yeah," he said, "but I didn't mind the spiders then."
"I thought being intimidating was a bad thing?" he asked.
"Well," she said, cocking her head. "I'm glad it did."
"I dislike them very much," he admitted. "They're weird."
He pursed his lips. "I apologize."
She gave him a quick kiss. "And that wouldn't happen?"
"Yeah," he said with a smile. "Hopefully there's one outside the cave. Inside, there are some, but there's also spiders."
"You think so?' he asked calmly. "I try not to be, sometimes."
She squinted at him, but there was a still a playful grin on her face. "There's always hope, Curnow."
"Yep," he said with a quick nod. "We're getting close.
"Nuh uh," he said. "I'm not."
She laughed breathily, just excited to be near him. "I'm glad. You're all I've ever hoped for."
"Well," he said. "I'm still glad."
"Okay," he said sarcastically. "Fine."
She grinned, kissing him deeply. "I love you."
