"I can read it to you, if you'd like," he said. "It's short."
She smiled, her grip on his hands firm. "You think so?"
He frowned looking up. "Climb up there?"
"It's called 'This is the Kind of Hero.' It's pretty interesting."
"Thanks," she said, watching his features for a moment before grinning brightly. "You're fantastic."
"Then what is it?" he asked impatiently. "I'm dying to know."
"I like poetry sometimes. It depends on my mood."
She pursed her lips. "I don't care. I'll do it anyways."
"It's eerie and quiet," he said. "I find it unusual."
"So that doesn't surprise you?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
She shook her head, smiling up at him. "Nope. I wouldn't one bit."
He watched the lake for a moment, silent. "It's strange."
"Poetry," he answered. "I wanted something quick."
She kissed him lightly, then grinned once she pulled away. "I will."
He looked around curiously as they went. "How far is it?"
He glanced at her. "What are you reading?"
"Hmm," she murmured. "Definitely not firing most people."
"I'm okay," he said. "Let's just see what you're talking about, here."
A minute later, he joined her, sitting next to her reading his own book.
