"He's visiting," he responded. "Just till tomorrow. He lives near here, anyways."
He watched her thoughtfully for a moment. "I'm sorry that you had to go through that."
She shut her eyes. "Nuh uh."
He smiled slightly, then pulled out of the driveway. "Good."
"Oh, I see." He tilted his head. "That's pretty interesting."
"I will not admit to defeat, Curnow."
"Thank you," he said, starting the car. "I appreciate the compliment."
"I see," he said slowly. "Why were you at the hospital?"
She covered her eyes again. "Nope. Not last time, not this time."
"I'll be able to sort it out," he said. "Trust me."
"I could see it doing just that," he said. "How long did it take you to come up with this?"
She sighed frowning at him. "Yes, I suppose you're right."
"I'm sure we'll be able to see it again someday," he said. "I promise."
"That's pretty cool, actually. Smart."
"Yes," she replied. "Fight me."
"Yeah," he said agreeably. "I understand. Like the observatory?"
"What is this supposed to be, anyways?"
She turned, kissing him lightly. "Good. You better be."
"Sometimes," he said. "Why?"
