"Did you suggest your boyfriend would kill us? I don't think that will happen. Just trust me, okay?"
He grabbed his clothes for the day from his bag and went to the door. "I'll be right back."
"Not a lot?" she looked at him with mock sadness. "I understand."
"That's not true. I can help you."
"Maybe a little," he admitted, standing up.
"Hmph." She frowned. "That's a problem, because I do love you."
"I'm positive."
"Good," he said. "I'm proud of you."
She pursed her lips. "Oh no. Definitely not."
"Trust me. It will be better if you stop."
He laughed. "Really? I didn't think you could do it."
"Oh, shush." She grinned. "I don't think that's why."
"You shouldn't be afraid." A bubble appeared and disappeared before the message popped up. "Nothing bad will happen."
"I'm glad," he said. "I would hope this trip didn't just scar you."
She watched him, her eyes wide. "Really? I'm so glad..." She grinned. "You make me feel happy. Just being around you."
"It was a figure of speech. What I'm trying to get at, is that he shouldn't be hurting you. Period. You shouldn't stay with him."
