She rested her forehead on his shoulder, readjusting the blanket around her.
"Yeah. That'd be weird."
"It's not your fault," he said. "So you don't need to apologize."
She paused for a moment before speaking, her voice soft. "I love you."
"We already promised not to," he pointed out. "And we took my car."

She smiled against his lips, one hand holding the collar of his shirt and the other resting of the side of his neck.
He grinned, then spoke in a whisper. "Neeeerd."
"Yeah, mostly." He crossed his arms. "I get in trouble if I don't."
