"Fortunately," he told her. "I'm glad I could remind you."
"I'm safe when you're around," she said. "So don't worry."
"I think that's a lie," he responded. "It doesn't seem fine."
"Kind of like how we're getting married?"
She laughed quietly, shaking her head. "What wouldyou have wished for, then?'
"That doesn't mean I don't pay attention."
"But... but we gotta." He sighed. "Cause my parents."
She turned to him, a smile on her face. "Did you wish for anything?"
The response came back fairly quickly. "It sure didnt seemm like it."
"I dunno," he replied, his eyes still closed as he grumbled. "I don't knowww."
She grinned, and the tiredness in her eyes seemed to lessen for a moment. "There it is."
A message would bee on her phone, and once she checked, she would see it was Francis. "Are yoiu okay?"
Francis shifted slightly, turning his head. He mumbled something in his sleep, but it was discernable.
She watched the sky, searching for what he was seeing.

Francis didn't bother to look for, as he respected privacy and could see that she didn't want to be disturbed as she left.
