He stepped in, shaking his head. "It was awhile ago. You didn't know I'd remember."
She grinned, kissing him gently. "I'm glad."
"Pfft. Doesn't seem like it. I don't know why you can't see that."
"Right. It's not Lark." He smiled, opening his door. "I'll believe you."
She laughed. "I hope to never hear those words come out of your mouth in a non-joking way."
"Because the only reason theirs problems is because of your boyfriend," he said flatly.
"Yep," he said. "Are you?"
"Hmm," she murmured. "Nope. She sounds pretty cool, though."
"No," he said. "Only on his side."
"Hey," he said with a smile, giving her a kiss.
"Oh, really?" She smiled. "What was her name?"
"Right about it not being your fault," he said. "Obviously."
Francis waited outside, leaning against his car door as he checked his phone.
"I bet you even confessed while you were drunk as well, didn't you?" she teased.
"See, I was right."
After a bit, her watch flashed. 'Car'
"So you have flirted using pigeons." She shook her head. "I knew it."
"No, not your fault. Evan's fault," he corrected.
