Francis crossed his arms. "I didn't know your visit was wanted?" he asked, while Miles looked on awkwardly.
"But pigeons," she said, "are different."
"It was?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Are our kids going to be pidgeons?"
"Leave me and my specific tastes alone," he retorted with a frown. "This is bullying."
He began walking to the door, where annoyed mutters could be heard. "Right now?"
"That will be perfect. I think we can do it," she said with a nod.
"No thank you," he said politely. "I prefer bagels."
"Okay. Let's go and see him, then," he said, standing up.
"Mail and stuff," she said firmly. " Then killer pigeons."
"Good," he said, squeezing her hand. "I'm glad."
"We need to work on this project. The time we have in class isn't enough."
"Sorry," she said. "Mail and stuff is important."
"Hm. No."
"Is that what you want, though?" he asked thoughtfully.
