"Good," he said. "We can stay from Friday night til Sunday, if that works with you."
He raised an eyebrow. "Well?"
"I could paint you," she teased. "That' d work."
He opened the door for her, speaking while he did so. "So I spoke with my parents."
"Does he also push you around?" he asked, clicking his pen.
"But it'd take a lot of work too," she said.
"Alright," he said. "Not bad. You wanna go in?"
"Do you even know Evan? I'm pretty sure he is always a bit violent."
"That's weird," she said, chuckling slightly. "I don't want to do that."
He smiled lightly at her, taking her hand. "Hey," he said. "It's good to see you."
"Is that really something that keeps you up?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
"That's true. Maybe I'll paint a person soon, then."
A few days later, Francis stood outside the cafe, patiently waiting for Poppy to arrive.
"I can tell," he said. "Why?"
"I mean I can draw people, I just think it's odd." She shrugged, squeezing his hand.
"I was just asking," he said. "You look tired."
"Because, it feels like you're just watching them and it's really weird."
