Francis remained down, his forehead to the ground as he took a few deep breaths.
She pursed her lips, putting her arms around his neck. "Pleeeeaaaaase?"
"That's not enough time left that I get to spend with you," he muttered.
He sputtered, clearly not expecting it, and holding his side, wincing.
She frowned, and stood in front of him. "Jaaaaack, I'm sorryyyyyyy!"
"Okay," he said finally, putting an arm around her.
The hit managed to get him on the ground, his ears ringing.
"Hmm," she mumbled, crossing her arms before giving in and kissing his cheek. "I'm sorry."
He frowned, but stood up, his arms crossed. "Fine. That will have to work."
Francis muttered a curse at Evan under his breath, his expression hateful as he turned to leave.
"I don't want to show you the painting right," she decided, her tone stubborn.
"Hm," he mumbled. "Fine. That works, I suppose."
"Make me, *squee!*!" he said angrily, taking steps back.
"Oh, shush. You're plenty exciting," she said, raising an eyebrow. "Hmm. What's something fun..."
"I can walk myself down the stairs," he said. "Please?"
"I will when you're being rough," he growled.
"I don't know," she said with a shrug. "What do you usually do?"
He shook his head. "Nope. Not until you do what I ask."
"Don't shove her, Evan," he said, his voice low and threatening.
