She reached up to kiss him. "Alright, casanova. You don't need to dance this time."
"Good," he replied. "That's whatbinlike to hear."
He nodded and took a seat, observing the room while she was gone.
"I remember we got back to the docks and I saw the fireworks. You still didn't pass out."
He frowned. "Forgive me?"
"So," he began, raising an eyebrow at Rye, "do you have the supplies?"
"You didn't pass out after Urela," she said innocently. "Not that I remember."
"No. There are a few exceptions. I'm not going to do that."
"It is, but I'd prefer my first name," he said flatly, approaching her.
"Oh yeah? You didn't pass out immediately last night," she said. "I had to convince you to sleep."
He brushed her cheek. "C'mon, Poppy. I wouldn't do that."
He shut the car door, frowning. "I have a name, you know."
"Is that so?" she asked. "Then I suppose you won't mind dancing right now?"
"Maybe you shouldn't threaten people with embarrassment," he said, grinning slyly.
Francis stepped out of his sleek, black car. Luckily, he was able to drive again, this time hopefully more safely.
"Is that how you interpret it?"
He frowned. "I wouldn't attend."

"It was only good things," she said, her tone reassuring and bright. "Like, I like how you tried!"
