He smiled gently, observing her affectionately before slowly going to rest his head on her shoulder.
"You're being obnoxious, Evan," he huffed. "As per usual."
Once they pulled away, she watched him lovingly. "Jack?" she said softly, her voice low and thoughtful. "I really, really love you."
He kissed her lightly, his hand running through her hair. "I'll always love you."
"Like I said, don't worry about it," he replied, his expression cold. "You probably wouldn't understand, anyways."
"I'm just teasing you," she said, reaching up for a kiss.
"Maybe it just seemed that way," he said. "It's hard to tell with me, I guess."

"At that point I thought of you as a friend, and I still cared about what happened to you." He crossed his arms.
"Don't worry about that, Evan. I can still make sure they get scholarship. It was just a little prank, after all."

"Ah." He grinned. "I remember that glass that cut you. Scared the hell out of me."
