"You said a lot of things," she commented, before tilting her head. "Like how you think I light up the room, and that you feel like something is...
"Of course not," he said, squeezing her hand. "Unless you want me to, that is."
"You said you loved me. Does that mean I can't trust that?"
"No," he said. "I want what's best for you."
"I'm pretty sure you said the same thing to me last," she said, raising an eyebrow.
"I think you should try to sleep for a bit," he said softly. "It might help."
"I don't want to sleep. Sleep is for the weak."
He gently, ran his fingers through through her hair. "I know I would be a lot sadder without you," he said soothingly. "I love you."
"I think I have," she said, then chuckled self-consciously. "Maybe not enough sleep, though."
He enclosed his hands around hers, then leaned over to kiss her cheek. "I wouldn't let that happen. I promise."
"Me too," she said decisively. "When I'm with you, my knees feel weak. That might be a good thing, though?"
He grinned. "I know."
She tilted her head, then leaned forward to kiss him. "I haven't really either..."
He shook his head. "No, I still think you're cute."
She pulled away, her brows furrowed. "Is everything okay?"
"Since always, because it's what you are."
"Or," she began, turning her head into his shoulder, "maybe you shouldn't keep things like that from me.
He laughed. "That's cute."
"I just remembered you told me that hugging means a lot to you," she said quietly.
He frowned. "Does that happen every time we kiss?"
