He sat down at the side of the room with a heavy sigh, his hand pinching the bridge of his nose. "I can't believe you."
"Maybe not," she said with a shrug. "You tried to catch a shark with your hand, though."
Francis crossed his arms. "It's true. I'm concerned for my wife's well-being and I would like to stay with her."
"I don't know," she said vaguely, standing up. "Maybe."
He kept his expression calm for her, and smiled sympathetically, despite his inner concern.
She looked at him strangely. "Why do you ask?"
"I still don't like it," he said.
She patted his arm, her head resting on the side of his bed. "I left you the pain killers last night. Do you want me to get them?"
He pursed his lips. "You're in an ambulance after getting attacked. That's not as okay as I'd like."
Avice opened the door and stepped in, her head tilted slightly as she sat on the floor by his bed. "Are you doing alright?" she asked quietly.
"I have my faults, Poppy. I only did it because I'm worried about you."
Around fifteen minutes later, there was a light knock on his door.
He raised an eyebrow. "See? I told you."
