"I agree," he said, "but right now you don't seem to be doing great."
"Hang out? That works for me, but I'm making you lay down." She crossed her arms.
He frowned, looking down at her. "God, I hope you're alright."
"Not really," she admitted. "But no worries."
"You have a really big cut on your head," he said softly, concern etching his features. "You're the only medic here right now, too."
She nodded, opening the door for him. "Are you tired?" she asked.
He put his hand on her head, hoping to help with the bleeding. "I appreciate it," he said distractedly, checking his phone with impatience.

He sighed, his eyebrows furrowing. "What about your head? Does that hurt?"
She smiled softly, her hand cupping his jaw. "You're too good to me, Jack."
He leaned down, brushing strands of her hair out of her face. "Where does it hurt?"
She seemed surprised at first, but kissed him back, her fingers lightly grazing his jaw.
He dialed the number and called, taking her hand with his free one. After a few moments of speaking, he hung up. "I will, okay? Once everything...
