She rubbed his back gently, looking up at him after a moment. "I like you a lot."
Once they approached, he stepped to the side. "You have the first look."
"You're welcome," she said. "I like hugging you."
He glanced at her, his eyes concerned. "I bet it will be really awesome, yeah?"
She was quiet for a moment, but when she spoke it was soft. "I'll make sure to give you a lot of hugs, okay?"
Once they got outside, he looked around. "Have you ever looked through a telescope this big?"
She hugged him, the movement steady and sure. Her hands pressed against his back, and her head buried in his shoulder.
"Of course! We'll find all the coolest things, right?" He raised an eyebrow.
"You weren't hugged as a child?" she asked, her expression curious.
"Let's keep going," he said. "I'm sure the sun isn't the only thing that's that amazing."
Her blue eyes shimmered slightly as she watched him. She snapped out of it quickly, though. "Do you like being hugged?" she asked.
He nodded. "It was my pleasure. I'm glad you enjoy it."
