"Jack, I'm sorry." She said his name unevenly, and pulled her hands away. "I just want to think about this."
"I think museums are fun. We'll have to go to one, some time." He looked down at her. "Would that work?"
"I know, it's just... you are the one person I felt like I could trust, but I don't even know right now."
He stood up after a moment, stretching. "Is there anywhere else you would like to go?"
"I don't think I even know your real name," she said, moving away. Her face had a look of frustration. "What kind of friendship is that?"
"Hmph. Alright. I'll do it if you do it, okay?"
"I wasn't planning on telling anyone," she said, a bit roughly. "I thought we were friends, though?"
"I won't die. Jeez. It's just hard, okay? I promise I won't die." He smiled at her.
"I bet it is," she replied, her eyebrows furrowing.
"Sometimes," he admitted. "I've been trying to stop."
She nodded, her arms crossing uncomfortably. "You know how we're supposed to be honest with each other, yeah?"
"I don't like change that much, but I mean more like smoking, and bad things."
"So," she said slowly, hesitating slightly. "I found a book with the Sparks family in it." She paused, waiting to see his reaction.
"My worst trait is the fact that I can't let go of habits," he said thoughtfully. "And I think my best trait would be my ability to get work done."
She set the book down silently, then approached, observing his features before she said anything. "Jack?"
He shifted to kiss the top of her head. "I thinks that's good. It probably means it doesn't happen often."
Avice frowned, a strange sense of confusion washing over her as she re-read. After a moment she stood up, holding the book close as she went off...
"I'm not determined to find it," he said. "I just know that they are."
She stopped, and began to read, her eyes scanning over the words with interest.
"My tendency to beat people up, maybe?" He tilted his head.
