"Yeah, you're probably right," he said, swinging their hands. "What do you think it is?"
She started to work, but quickly pulled her hand towards her, wincing slightly. "Stupid splinter," she cursed lowly, inspecting her hand.
"Do you think we should ask? I mean, we do have a right to know, yeah? I'm pretty curious myself," he said thoughtfully, tilting his head.
She blushed, but didn't say anything, only passing him a rag. "Um... Yeah, right. S-Sorry."
"Oh, I know. After that week I realized it is a terrible weakness. That's okay, though. It's what motivated me to survive."
She squinted at him, only to realize something as her eyes widened slightly. "Y-you think I'm pretty?" (That's so frickin cute)
"A shame? Is it a shame that we're getting married?" he asked sarcastically, raising an eyebrow.
"Well... Maybe. I just think that you should try to be more careful, that's all," she said, grabbing a rag.
"Sometimes I wonder if you'd be better off without me, but then I realize I'm a lot happier with you."
She cracked up, shaking her head as she sat by one of the cannons. "Nevermind. It's.. not important anymore."
"I'm sure it won't happen again. I mean... I can't promise anything, but I'm sure our people know to be careful now." He rubbed his eyes tiredly....
She made her way below deck. It was a bit cold down there, surprisingly, as normal it was hot. "Don't hit your head, mmkay?"
He kissed her cheek and sat up, hesitant to let her go. "Yeah, alright."
"I didn't know if you wanted to help or not, so I didn't ask," she admitted. "But, yes. You helping would be good."
He put his arms around her, sighing happily. "I love you, too. More than anything."
She poked at him, sticking out her tongue playfully. "Whatever. I have to go and clean the cannons."
"I don't want you to worry, that's true, but they will like you, okay? Trust me, okay?"
Her eyebrows furrowed, but a grin crept onto her face. "Yes, it is. That one was kind of meant as a compliment, too, but you don't have to take...
"It's okay," he said smoothly, kissing the top of her head. "I'm sure they'll love you."
"I wasn't complimenting you," she stated bluntly, but her tone had a sort of kindness in it. "I'm just telling the facts."
